Togue with flower

Hiya I am back in the world of the blogger. The last year I have been finishing up my college degree with an internship in Northern Ireland...which meant that I didn't have much time to do many crochet or knitting projects.

One I did get finished was this hat:

Now this hat pattern took me about a week to finish (probably working on it about an hour a day.)

I used different colours because I am not that fond of red in general....but here is a pic of my finished project.

I loved the way this hat turned out and it was really simple. Now it fit my head (which can tend to be fairly small) so if you decide to make this hat you might want to use a slightly larger crochet hook. You can also make the hat longer by adding rows to the edging.

Hope you have fun

Visor Cap Pattern

One of my favourite two pattern websites online are:

Crochet Pattern Central  and Knitting Pattern Central

I love these sites for the main reasons that they have thousands of links to free online patterns for many different things like afghans, sweaters, socks, hats, scarfs, etc... These two sites are probably my main source of information on new patterns and ideas.

Another place that I have recently discovered and is the new "craze" on the Internet is Pinterest. This site is great for getting pictures of crochet/knitting stuff, although the pictures don't always end up linking to patterns.

I was on Pinterest the other day and I found a great little crocheted hat that I wanted to make.

Visor Cap     Visor Cap

So I decided to make it . It wasn't too bad of a pattern, I found that it was pretty tight on my head but not to bad and I always have had a really hard time getting little straps like the embellishment on this hat to lay flat, but all in all it took me less than two days and was fairly easy.

They main thing that I found challenging was finding the plastic canvas that I needed in the visor. After searching every dollar store and Wal-Mart near me, I found it at the last dollar store I looked in buried on the bottom shelf.

I don't have it with me or I would show you a picture of the finished project, but it did work out great and doesn't look that different from the finished project.

Tuesday 12 June 2012

Well I decided to create a blog where I can share all the stuff that I enjoy doing, plus all the interesting pictures, fun facts, music or anything else that I really enjoy. . . . hopefully I will remember to keep this updated regularly as I can be a little bit scatter brained. Now just to give you all a brief heads up the things I enjoy doing are:

Cooking:

Knitting:

Crocheting:

Playing piano:

and many other things. . . .. one thing that is probably a really weird collection for me is that I love collecting napkins. . . yep I'm a little strange.  . . . .

I will definitely post some pictures of that collection soon

Well I am checking out for the night
